各位親愛的家長及同學：

Dear parents and students,

In January 2025, I would like to extend my sincerest wishes to all staff, students, and parents, wishing everyone good health and a new year filled with joy and vitality. As the first term exams are approaching in late January, we have intentionally reduced our activity schedule this month to allow students to focus on preparing for their exams.

在本月初的三至四日，我校有幸受邀參加了“全球華人科學教育研究學會2025年會”。我們不僅參與了盛大的開幕儀式，還精心設置了為期兩日的展覽攤位，展示了我校學生自主設計的創新防洪裝置。我深感驕傲的是，同學們在攤位前熱情洋溢地向參觀者介紹，他們不僅流利地使用廣東話交流，更自信地用普通話講解，贏得了參觀者們的廣泛讚譽。尤為令人振奮的是，教育局首席助理秘書長（課程支援）謝婉貞女士、總課程發展主任（科學）林威廉博士以及高級課程發展主任（科學）謝斌麟先生親臨我校攤位參觀，並對同學們的出色表現給予了高度評價。此外，我們亦全程參與了開幕儀式的各項活動，其中，趙主任的精彩分享更是讓更多人對LTY有了更深入的認識。

At the beginning of the month, on the 3rd and 4th, our school was honored to be invited to the "Global Chinese Scientific Education Research Society 2025 Conference." We not only participated in the grand opening ceremony but also set up a two-day exhibition booth showcasing innovative flood prevention devices designed by our students. I am extremely proud of our students, who enthusiastically introduced the exhibits to visitors, confidently using both Cantonese and Mandarin, earning widespread praise from attendees. Particularly exciting was the visit from Ms. Tse Yuen Ching, Edith, Principal Assistant Secretary for Education Bureau (Curriculum Support), along with Dr. William Lam, Chief Curriculum Development officer(Science) and Mr. Tse Bun Lue, Tim ,Senior Curriculum Development Officer (Science), who commended our students' outstanding performance. Additionally, we participated fully in various activities of the opening ceremony, with Mr. Chui sharing insights that helped more people understand LTY.

一月四日，我們迎來了家長日，當天同學們的成績表也如期發放。這為家長與班主任之間提供了寶貴的溝通機會，讓雙方能夠更全面地了解學生在家庭與學校中的表現。同時，我們還舉辦了書展活動，鼓勵同學們多閱讀、愛閱讀，拓寬知識視野。

On 4th January, we held Parent Day, during which students' report cards were distributed. This provided a valuable opportunity for communication between parents and class teachers, allowing both sides to gain a comprehensive understanding of students' performance at home and school. We also organized a book fair to encourage our students to read more and broaden their knowledge.

隨後的一月十一日，開放日如期而至，當天校園內熱鬧非凡。我們設置了豐富多彩的攤位活動、平衡車活動，以及科學體驗活動，吸引了眾多師生與家長的積極參與。此外，我們還舉行了幼稚園填色比賽的頒獎典禮，來自多所幼稚園的獲獎家長與學生歡聚一堂，共同領取榮譽證書。頒獎前，我們分別安排了高小及初小的英詩集誦，他們的表演十分精彩。最終，活動在歡聲笑語中圓滿落幕。

Following that, on 11th January, Open Day took place, and the campus was bustling with activity. We set up a variety of engaging booths, balance bike activities, and science experiences, attracting active participation from many staff, students, and parents. Additionally, we held an award ceremony for the coloring competition for kindergarten students, celebrating the winners from various kindergartens. Before the awards, we arranged for both senior and junior primary students to perform the choral speaking, and their performances were truly remarkable. Ultimately, the event concluded successfully amidst laughter and joy.

本月的一大亮點當屬中華文化日。在此期間，我要特別感謝本校工友及家長們的辛勤付出，他們精心製作的花燈不僅用於義賣活動，還將校園裝扮得絢麗多彩。當天，全校師生及家長們身穿華服，積極參與各項活動，並品嚐了家長們精心準備的賀年美食。舞龍舞獅、鑼鼓齊鳴，這些傳統節慶元素更是將新年的歡樂氣氛推向高潮。

A major highlight of this month was the Chinese Culture Day. During this period, I would like to express my special thanks to our school staff and parents for their hard work. The beautifully crafted lanterns they made were used for charity sales and adorned our campus vibrantly. On that day, all staff, students, and parents donned traditional attire, actively participating in various activities and enjoying the festive foods prepared by parents. The dragon and lion dances, along with the sound of gongs and drums, added to the festive atmosphere, making the New Year celebrations even more joyous.

值此新春之際，新一年的生肖為蛇，我衷心祝願大家蛇年行大運，聰明伶俐如蛇般靈巧。讓我們攜手共進，迎接更加美好的未來！恭喜、恭喜！

As we enter this new spring, with the Year of the Snake ahead, I sincerely wish everyone good fortune and cleverness, just like a snake. Let us join hands to embrace a brighter future together! Congratulations and best wishes! Kung Hei Fat Choy!
